My condolences my dear cousins. Tante Dedee is at peace and no longer in pain, in Heaven with her sister Denyse, and Nanny and Grandpapa and Danny. May her memory be for a blessing as we think of only the happy times we shared with her at Lac Saint-Joseph. Surely that is where Heaven is.

My deepest sympathies to you both. I learned the sad news last week. I had tried to contact you, Gary, through Le Foyer, for news on your Mother, but my message must not have reached you.
I truly loved your mother and our weekly chats before and during the Bingo, and have honestly missed spending time with her through this trying time…
She was a shining star in my life. I will not forget her, and that sweet smile, the way her eyes twinkled when we laughed together!
You now have an angel in Heaven watching over you. God bless you and yours.
I have my fond memories of her, she has a place in my heart!
Mary

Gary, I only learned of your mom’s death yesterday: one of my friends at the Centre d’hébergement de Lorretteville contacted me via Messenger. You mom was a remarkable, wonderful woman and person, Gary. It was a privilege for me to know her for a couple of years, usually in your company. She was such a sensitive, loving person. I sincerely adored all the brief conversations the three of us had together while I was tending to the flowerbed.
I know how much she loved the rosebush I’d planted in the flowerbed two years ago. She often commented on it even though it never produced a lot of roses (too much shade in the morning). This spring, I transplanted it near the huge tree in front in the hope that it would produce an abundance of roses for your mom, Gary. I did that with her in mind because she was the only person who noticed the rosebush tucked away at the back of the flowerbed. Sadly, Andrée won’t be there to see it and that saddens me. But who can say, Gary, maybe she’ll see it just the same. I know I'll think of her everytime I see it in flower.
Gary, in addition knowing your mom, I got to know many of the other residents at the Centre over the past six years or so. Some of the families were very supportive, stopping by regularly to spend some time with their father/mother/sister/brother/spouse. Many, many residents had hardly any visitors—or none at all. I can tell you that I know of no one who was more supportive than you, Gary. For Andrée, you were like a huge comforter that we wrap ourselves in on a cold winter night. When you were there next to her, your mom felt loved, she felt safe, she felt cared for. Andrée knew deep sadness, more than most women know, but she also had the unconditional love of a son who stood with her through calm and stormy seas. You presence and commitment gave your mom a profound sense that her life had meaning and purpose. That’s a lot, Gary. Remarkable woman. Remarkable son.
