The family of Dennis Gibson
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dennis, you have my deepest sympathies.
When I met Dennis, I was a brand new teacher at St. Pat's, as well as a transplant from Manitoba.
Dennis was one of the first staff alumni I met who made me very welcome and appreciated during my time at St. Pat's. His wit and humour; smiles and stories were a great addition to my experiences.
His love of photography was very clear and his whole being vibrated with the joy and pride he had in helping many students explore this passion.
I will always remember him fondly, along with the great history conversations that we had during cinq a septs!

Gibson Family
I met Dennis as a kid, he’s my best friends grandfather. She was his first grandchild. I remember him being so fascinated by her. When those two were together it’s like they were in their little bubble.
I spent a Christmas break at his and Viviane’s home once. Never felt more welcomed. He photographed and documented the whole trip. He then surprised me with a photo album he had put together, which I still have and will keep close to my heart. When Fawzia and I were in his presence together he always managed to make it special, magical and meaningful.
Thank you for being an awesome bad ass grandfather to my best friend and her siblings.

Mr Gibson's family
I have very fond memories of Mr Gibson. Mr Gibson was my history teacher in 1977 at St-Pat's. I still remember learning about WWI and WWII in his class. What a dynamic teacher he was! I remember he wrote on the board a lot! Really: A LOT! He was so interesting and energetic and passionate about history. He was also funny and kind to his students. Rest in peace dear teacher! You will be remembered with love and appreciation. My deepest condolences to his family, Lucie Riopel, Quebec City

I have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Gibson from history and morals classes at St. Pat’s. Two of those were “grading on the curve” and another was a typewritten letter explaining how to calculate the power of 2 on a calculator! Always in a happy mood and ready with his pens in his pocket square! Thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm Mr. Gibson! You were truly one of a kind.
I am so glad to have seen him once last time at the St. Pat’s 175 reunion.
God rest his beautiful soul.
My deepest condolences and love to Isabelle and the Gibson family xxx

While never having had Mr. Gibson as a teacher, I heard only good things about him from students as well as from my mom, who was a substitute teacher for years at St. Patrick's HS. She enjoyed his enthusiasm for his work as well as his joy of photography. He will be missed by many.

Great memories of a dedicated educator, one who constantly deviated from the norm and went over and above to accomplish his objective, reaching all his students. On a more personal note, a man who went beyond appearances and expressed a belief in me when most others had given up during a very rough period. I shall forever be grateful for that support that meant more to me than he could ever know. My sincerest condolences to all of you. Rest in peace Sir!

To the family
My heart goes out to you during this hard time of life.... when we lose our loved one and Mr. Gibson had love threefold and more, I'm sure.
I Remeber him in classe dealing with guys from 11C...a bunch of clowns and a few undisciplined brats but all in all, we loved and respected our teacher who was sooooo patient with us. I particularly loved the medieval project of constructing a castle!
Rest in peace our friend....we always remembered you as... " the good guy".

Merci M. Gibson!

Dennis Gibson's family
I was saddened to hear about Mr. Gibson's passing. As my history teacher in Secondary IV, he contributed to my growing interest in social studies. While I was on staff at St. Patrick's High School, he was of great support in helping prepare students for graduation during grad practices. I will remember his sense of humor and wit. My most sincere condolences to his family and his friends.

I was sorry to hear of Dennis passing. Viviane, my hope is that eventually you and the children will fill the emptiness you feel with all the good memories that you all made over the years. One of my memories is of watching Dennis prepare the students for their graduation ceremony, such patience.
Take care

I was very blessed to have had Dennis Gibson as a teacher. He always went the extra mile to provide further insight beyond the curriculum. Not just social studies, but faith and life. Though I did not become a teacher, his respect for students and belief in them have accompanied me in my work as I mentor co-workers and … teach Sunday school. Thanks, Mr. Gibson.
