Deepest sympathies. Don was my hero when he stood up for me in French class when I was being bullied. That was a long time ago but I hold his kindness forever in my heart to this day. I am so sorry for his loss.

The Hariett family
My deepest sympathies on your loss. All through high school Don was my warrior partner lineman on the Quebec High School football team. We fought -- and won -- many battles together. But in our ever increasing mobile society back then we lost touch when I moved to Los Angeles. Don was a great guy with a sense of humour I appreciated.

I was deeply saddened to hear, a few hours after Don's passing. We go back a long ways at YMCA summer camp and football at QHS. Don was a gentleman in every sense of the word and his smile will never be forgotten.

Ma chère Carole,
Monique vient de m'annoncer la terrible nouvelle qui vous plonge dans un nouveau chagrin. Je sais que toute la famille traverse actuellement une série de peines. Depuis -Tonton Jean, en passant par Laurence, puis la petite gymnaste dont l'avenir est maintenant à se diriger différemment, Elle est jeune, elle peut encore trouver a ce construire un avenir heureux. Quelle soit déçue, on le comprend, mais il faut trouver vite une autre voie. Aidez là.
Pour vous ma chère Carole, c'est un chagrin qui ne peut s'éteindre, il vous faut du courage, Vous allez en avoir, surtout, si comme je le sais, vous pensez plus aux autres qu'à vous, vous saurez trouver une certaine sérénité que je vous souhaite de tout coeur. Je pense souvent à votre famille, puisqu'elle fait partie de celle de Monique, que je considère comme une soeur.Elle est pour moi l'amie la plus compréhensive, la plus dévouée, la plus chère.

To lose a friend that has been close since childhood is a major blow . Don and I played hockey together on Claire Fontaine as children and was much more then a cousin . Because of distance we never got together near enough and he will be greatly missed .

Dear Carole. We are so sorry to hear this terrible news. Thinking of you. We let Ray and Bernadette know. Don was obviously not sick. So we are guessing it was sudden. So sad that you didn't have more time together. It was such a blessing that you met and had a lot of happiness together. I wish it had been longer. Too young to have passed away. Feeling very sad. Losing both Don and Mrs. H. individually is sad enough, but losing Don so unexpectedly within 4 days of Mrs. H. is shockingly heartbreaking. I cannot imagine what it must be like for you Carole, Brenda and the enire Harriet family and words cannot express the sorrow we feel for you. The Angers/Niemi and Harriet families' history expands over 55 years and our friendship remained intact throughout those many years. I will forever cherish the wonderful memories of our mutual family events that we shared.
